Second Life (or taking another life without being a cat)
The vast majority of you have already heard of Second Life, but for those who only have small notions about this virtual world here is a little introduction:
The Second Life official website sums up their "product" as a virtual world where users through the use of avatars (totally custom) can establish social relationships, creating, visiting, for it to evolve ... using both voice and chat .
In this world of "drills" that would delight Baudrillard, users can let their imagination by creating and participating in all kinds of events (or even creating them), going to the "alter ego" of cities and places of diverse cultures such as Hollywood, the Instituto Cervantes, Barcelona (you can see the famous monument to Columbus in the image) and to yet another types of institutions such as the University Carlos III of Madrid (where I trained as a sociologist).
The great strength of Second Life, which has caused has followers around the globe, in my view, is that it is a world that constantly reinvents itself, with the state re-genesis of its natural state. Unlike other virtual reality (of life EVERYDAY) such as The Sims and Singles, Second Life does not restrict our imagination, no limits, anything can be introduced or made from owning guns up flirting with prostitution and other vices of dubious morality (here I leave a curious story of a real divorce because of a prostitute in Second Life http://www.muyinternet.com/2008/11/14/una-prostituta-de-second-life-provoca-un-divorcio-real/ ). Second Life lets unleash our morbid side, more instinctive, more animal ... at the same time allows us to become successful men and women in our "second life" and also (and here is another great strength Second Life) primarily by the amount of 0 and without accountable to a judge in the case of attack "virtually" to other users.
Another strong point of this virtual world offers us is that we can project our fantasies on our avatar, making it our old dreams and deleting (even for a few minutes) our deepest frustrations vital. Similar to the case of parents shaping their children to try to get them what they could not get years ago (for the most diverse causes.
Finally, I would recommend you to try Second Life, it is an experience not tends to be indifferent (both good and bad) to anyone. You can laugh a lot, have fun and make friends virtual with one day left to grab a coffee at the "first life", and here is my advice, do not forget that where you should really exploit your potential is in the real world. Because ... What none of Second Life can overcome uan drink on terrace with friends?

The dark side of social networks on the net.
Especially in recent years we have been watching the spectacular rise of social networking on the network, see, Facebook, Tuenti, Hi5, etc.. Here, have great benefits, it is well known by all and a "server" is a frequent user of them. However, there are few occasions when we wonder whether we run a risk to throw a huge part of these virtual communities, ie, we forget the dark side of social networks.
First we should ask ourselves if our privacy is guaranteed. How Facebook guarantees us a minimum security hanging in the archives? A major problem in the network of networks, is the great "power vacuum" existing legal. The issue is extremely complex, because in such diverse networks share information with people from more varied sources, and the scope of legal control is exponentially more difficult as it complicates the puzzle. Let me give an example, if a user of a social network with a server, for example Asia, did misuse of our information the possibilities are practically zero help. Returning to the subject of the control mechanism is largely known for most of you who have recently come to our ears news that companies refer to as "police" the profiles of their workers to keep them under control, to hire or even fire. But this goes beyond, I remember that struck me reading a story by the British newspaper The Guardian in stating that universities like Cambridge inspect the profile of their candidates before accepting them as students

First wanted to thank all those who have followed my blog faithfully, and have actively participated in it in various ways, all your interest. I would like to thank you all for each of the comments that you shared with me and other bloggers, making this area of \u200b\u200bdebate, and expression of concerns, it makes sense. Due to various
vicissitudes of life, I had to "abandon" the blog to not being able to devote the necessary time. But today begins a new stage. Tomorrow I start my Masters and I think she is a good opportunity to relaunch this space. Today, I regret not having been consistent and have taken "time-stones" to devote to the blog, but to rectify is wise, is formally opened (and I give my word that I will work hard to maintain an acceptable quality) space "sociology."
