first attempt to summarize briefly what this research was to Zimbardo.
The experiment that made this research has been influential in both social psychology and sociology, and this was to divide a set of young people (a total of 24) into two groups and move them to a basement of Stanford University, which was restored, and pretended to be a prison. To recruit members who participated in this research were published advertisements in a series which was offered as a daily financial remuneration the amount of $ 15 (currently equivalent to about 60 euros).

The first group would play the role of jailer or "Gurdian" while the second group members adopt the role of prisoners.
